Vedanta’s Board of Directors will meet on June 18 to consider a dividend. In an exchange filing, the company said that the board will meet to consider and approve the First Interim Dividend on equity shares, if any, for the Financial Year 2025-26.
Furthermore, the company said that it has fixed June 24 as the record date to determine the entitlement of the equity shareholders. In accordance with the SEBI guideline, the company said that the trading window for the designated persons of the company will remain closed from June 14 to June 20.
Vedanta’s dividend history
Vedanta has a long history of giving dividends to its shareholders. The company gave its first dividend of Rs 2.5 in September 2003. Till now, the company has given a total of 43 dividends.
In 2005, Vedanta surprised its shareholders when it announced a dividend of Rs 20. Before that company gave modest dividends of Rs 5 in January 2005 and Rs 8 in June 2004. The company gave its highest-ever dividend of Rs 30 in July 2008; however, for the next 8 years, the company gave an average dividend of Rs 2.16.
Last year, Vedanta gave an interim dividend of Rs 20 and Rs 8.5 in September and December, respectively.
Vedanta’s revenue and profit in Q4
In the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2024-25, Vedanta reported a profit of Rs 4,961 crore. The company reported a 118.07 percent Year-on-Year increase in its profit. Furthermore, Vedanta posted Rs 40,455 crore in revenue from operations in the quarter. On a YoY basis, the revenue jumped by 13.93 percent against Rs 35,509 crore in the corresponding quarter the year before. The company’s EBITDA stood at Rs 11,466 crore.
