Jupiter Electric Mobility, part of the Jupiter Group, launched 10-foot and 20-foot containerised Battery Energy Storage Systems on Thursday. In an exchange filing, the company said that the 10-foot battery system is being supplied in partnership with GMMCO, a CKA Birla Group company. The company added that it will also export its first 20-foot battery system to Africa in October. 

Furthermore, the company said that it will soon be launching ground-up built liquid-cooled battery systems for grid-scale usage. 

Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Group, said in a statement, “Designed ground-up with capacities from 241 kWh to 3 MWh, these systems highlight our in-house design, engineering, and manufacturing strength.”

Lohia added that, built on stringent IEC standards, with certifications in place and system-level approvals underway, we see this segment scaling rapidly and emerging as a cornerstone of India’s clean energy future

Jutiper battery system specifications

JEM said in the statement that every component from the container to the battery and system integration is designed and manufactured by the company in-house. These battery systems are built at JEM’s Indore and Bangalore production plants and could be used for diverse clean energy applications, including diesel generator replacement, solar storage, energy shifting, and backup power for the Commercial & Industrial segment.

The company said that the battery systems are air-cooled and come with modular rack-based stacking and offer capacities ranging from 241 kWh to 3 MWh.

Jupiter Group expansion plan 

Jupiter said in the statement that to support growing C&I and utility market demand, the company will scale up its Indore facility’s production capacity to 5 GWh annually from the current 1 GWh annually. The company said that the planned expansion will be executed in a period of three months.
