Republic Day 2024 Parade Highlights: “Aavaahan” took center stage at Kartavya Path on Friday as India marked its 75th Republic Day. Dignitaries including French President Macron, the chief guest, President Murmu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the event, which featured tableaux representing states, Union Territories, and various ministries. The parade’s twin themes, ‘Visit Bharat’ (developed India) and ‘Bharat — Loktantra Ki Matruka’ (India — the mother of democracy), were showcased. Prominent entries included tableaux of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir and ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft, along with a march past celebrating ‘nari shakti.’ Additionally, four Mi-17 IV helicopters from the 105 Helicopter Unit showered flower petals on the audience at Kartavya Path. The Republic Day Parade started at 10:30 AM from Vijay Chowk to Kartavya Path.
On the occassion, the national capital was under an extensive security deployment on the occasion, with more than 70,000 personnel deployed across the city. Among them, 14,000 personnel were stationed at and around Kartavya Path to ensure the security of the Republic Day parade.

President Droupadi Murmu will hoist the national flag at 8 am at Kartavya Path. The Republic Day parade is scheduled to kick off at 10:30 am, spanning approximately 90 minutes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will initiate the ceremony with a visit to the National War Memorial, where he will lead the nation in honoring the fallen heroes by laying a wreath. The national flag will be unfurled with a synchronised 21-gun salute using indigenous 105-mm Indian Field Guns.
