Nicole Lacopetti, head of content strategy and policy, TikTok is reportedly leaving the company in September, according to The Information. From what is understood, this departure marks a shift in TikTok’s operations, following the earlier exit of V Pappas, former COO and the current reorganisation by Adam Presser, present COO.

“Nicole Iacopetti’s departure is a pivotal moment for TikTok as it navigates both internal changes and external pressures. As the platform grows, its content will likely evolve to meet the needs of an older audience. We’re already seeing a trend toward more complex and engaging content, including new online games, which are highly popular among users over 30,” Vadim Khrulev, CEO and founder, The Solitaire said.

Reportedly, TikTok has long been a target for US lawmakers, with concerns over data privacy and the platform’s apparent ties to China calling for a potential ban. Despite the scrutiny, TikTok has seemingly become an influential platform for reaching younger voters, many of whom engage with the platform through online games and other interactive content.

“The future president, whether it’s Trump, Harris, or another candidate, will need to recognize the power of TikTok as a means to reach voters in a more personal and dynamic way,” Khrulev added.
