E-commerce platform Myntra has announced a zero-commission offer for newly onboarded women’s ethnic wear brands, in a move timed to coincide with the lead-up to the festive season and India’s 79th Independence Day. The three-month offer, starting August 15, is part of its Myntra Rising Stars programme, designed to promote homegrown labels and Indian craftsmanship.
The company said the initiative will help new entrants in the ethnic wear segment gain market traction during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year. It is also targeting the onboarding of 500 brands over the next quarter.
Strategic support and visibility boost
Brands joining under the zero-commission scheme will be enrolled in the Myntra Rising Stars programme, gaining access to Myntra’s strategic account management services on a service-fee basis. This includes actionable insights to guide business growth, onboarding assistance, faster payment cycles and access to the company’s M-Express delivery network to improve customer experience.
To help brands capture consumer attention, the programme offers homepage and category page placement on the platform, along with exposure through social commerce formats such as Glamstream and Myntra Minis. These formats combine influencer-led content and shoppable videos to increase discovery and engagement.
Brands can also collaborate with Myntra’s social and influencer assets to amplify product launches and trends, while communicating their brand stories to potential customers in more interactive ways.
Driving digital reach for Indian craftsmanship
Sharon Pais, Chief Business Officer at Myntra, said the festive season provides an opportune moment to champion the country’s ethnic wear industry. “The Indian ethnic wear landscape beautifully reflects our cultural heritage and craftsmanship. We are committed to providing an ecosystem for the next generation of brands that celebrate this legacy with a zero commission construct,” she said.
Participating brands will also gain access to analytics dashboards and reports on sales performance, marketing results and industry trends. Myntra said the scheme is open to women’s ethnic wear brands looking to expand digitally. Applications can be made via its LinkedIn and Instagram channels or by emailing MyntraRisingStars@myntra.com.
