Josh, a short video app, has introduced a new in-app feature called Instant Games to enhance user engagement and explore revenue opportunities. From what is understood, this app is developed in partnership with ArcPlay.ai, a mobile app SDK provider, and its features include a range of casual games across genres like action, adventure, arcade, and puzzle. The initiative aims to provide users with an interactive experience while tapping into the growing trend of mobile gaming, the company stated.

“Our goal is to make Josh not just a hub for short-video entertainment but also an interactive platform offering diverse experiences. The launch of in-app games is a step in that direction. Josh’s success with microtransactions, powered by Jems, has been a key revenue driver. We are excited about our partnership with ArcPlay.ai, where the joint efforts of both teams have resulted in a seamless feature launch and a truly engaging experience. We’re thrilled about the opportunities Instant Games unlocks in terms of user engagement and innovative monetisation.” Ravanan N, business head, Josh, said.

Furthermore, it is also understood that Instant Games incorporates ad-supported gameplay, rewarding users with ‘Jems’, the app’s virtual currency, for in-game achievements. This feature is designed to encourage longer usage durations and facilitate microtransactions within the app ecosystem.

“At ArcPlay.ai, our vision is to create a world where mobile users can transact in a fun way within any B2C app by playing games. We have closely followed the groundbreaking work of Verse Innovation, particularly with the Josh app, and were eager to collaborate and create meaningful value together. Thanks to the strong synergies between our product, tech, and monetization teams, we achieved seamless integration in record time, and the results speak for themselves.” Avi Aggarwal, co-founder, ArcPlay.ai., added.
