Weekends are all about downtime. After a week full of work to meet deadlines, everybody needs some breather to relax and recuperate. From watching a favourite web series to planning a vacation, weekends are designated as family and me time. Dr Kailash Katkar, managing director, Quick Heal Technologies Limited, talks to BrandWagon Online about his weekends, favourite vacation destination and more.
What is the one thing you like to do when not working?
Stepping away from the screen, I immerse myself in the calming waves of the pool. Swimming is not just a physical exercise for me; it’s a meditative experience that refreshes my mind and body. It is during these quiet laps that I find balance and clarity.
How do you spend your weekends?
Weekends are sacred. They are a time to recharge and reflect on the harmony of life. I start with an early morning swim, followed by engaging in initiatives led by our foundation, which my wife passionately drives. It is a blend of personal well-being and contributing to the community that defines my weekends.
What are your favourite gadgets?
While I am fond of the latest tech, my favourite gadget is quite simple – the Kindle. It is my portal to new knowledge, stories, and ideas. And when I’m looking to capture the beauty of the places I travel to, my camera is my trusted companion.
Given an option to choose another career, what would it be?
If I were to choose another career, it would be in academia. The joy of sharing knowledge and fostering curiosity is unparalleled. I’d love to inspire and guide the next generation of thinkers and innovators.
Which is your favourite vacation spot?
There’s a certain allure to the tranquillity of the mountains. Whether it’s the Himalayas or the Alps, the crisp mountain air and the majestic views provide a serene backdrop for contemplation and rejuvenation.
A TV show, a movie, and an ad campaign you highly recommend watching?
For a TV show, I’d suggest ‘Planet Earth’ – it’s a stunning reminder of the natural wonders we must preserve. In film, ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ is an inspiring tale of resilience and determination. For an ad campaign, Google’s ‘Year in Search’ stands out as it captures the pulse of our global community, reflecting our shared hopes and fears.
