GroupM, WPP’s media investment group, has announced the elevation of Ashwin Padmanabhan as chief operating officer for South Asia.

From what it’s understood, Padmanabhan will now oversee a structure that brings together GroupM’s key practices. Reportedly, this includes influencer marketing, content, OOH offering, and Nexus. Seemingly, investments, trading, partnerships, motion, and entertainment will continue to be part of his portfolio. Moreover, Padmanabhan is understood to continue to be based out of Gurgaon and report to Prasanth Kumar, CEO, GroupM South Asia.

“I believe Padmanabhan’s understanding of client requirements and industry ecosystems and his track record ensures an alliance across respective domains. He will continue to drive synergies across multiple practices emphasising simplicity and consolidation to deliver client work,” Kumar said.
