Los Angeles-based DJ and music producer duo Almost Famous—comprising Simarjeet Saini and Rishab Sadarangani—is set to return for Season 2 of The Tribe, the Amazon Prime Video show produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment. Following the success of the show’s first season, the duo will reportedly play a larger role in the upcoming edition, both musically and on screen.
Season 1 of The Tribe, which debuted in 2024, emerged as a youth favourite, topping streaming charts across India, Canada, and the Middle East. The show followed a group of young Indian influencers attempting to break into the entertainment world in Los Angeles. Beyond its storyline, the series gained significant attention for its music, with Almost Famous contributing to its original soundtrack and making cameo appearances.
“The upcoming season will provide a deeper look into the duo’s creative journey,” said their manager and business developer, Hardik Zaveri, adding that Almost Famous is excited about the creative direction Season 2 is taking. According to sources, the show is currently in development and will integrate more of the duo’s music and narrative presence.
The return to The Tribe comes at a time when Almost Famous is gaining momentum globally. Their latest single, Unsick, featuring rapper Tyla Yaweh, has been generating online buzz, with increasing streaming numbers. Meanwhile, a recent music video produced by Simarjeet Saini—featuring French Montana and Guru Randhawa—crossed 50 million streams in its debut month.
Known for blending cinematic production with hip-hop and global beats, the duo’s previous collaborations include names such as Young Paris, Yung Blu, OT Genasis, Kennedi Lyken, Ali Zafar, and Soulja Boy. One of their earlier tracks, Let Me Go, was also featured in The Tribe Season 1, which starred Hollywood model and actor Ana K Cruz.
As anticipation builds around Season 2, Almost Famous continues to expand its footprint at the intersection of music and visual storytelling. Details on the new season’s release are expected to be announced soon.
