India’s premier low-cost carrier, IndiGo Airlines, has unveiled the inside look of its brand new business class aircraft called the Indigo Stretch. The announcement of this new business product was made in August as part of Indigo’s 18th anniversary celebrations. Passengers will now be able to book business class seats for flights connecting major metro cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. This new offering positions IndiGo alongside Tata Group-owned Air India, Air India Express, and Vistara, the primary airlines currently providing business-class services in India.
IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers had earlier emphasised on the airline’s commitment to enhancing travel options while maintaining its reputation for affordability. This move represents a significant evolution for IndiGo, which has long been recognized for its no-frills approach to air travel.
Route Expansion
The airline launched its business class service at an introductory fare of Rs 18,018 for the Delhi-Mumbai route, the bookings for which had started in August itself. Indigo Stretch aspires to cover all 12 routes by the end of next year. This phased approach aims to gradually introduce more travelers to the enhanced business-class experience.

IndiGo Stretch promises a superior travel experience with coupe-style seating arranged in a spacious 2-seat wide configuration. Each seat features a generous pitch of 38 inches and a width of 21.3 inches, ensuring ample room for relaxation.

Exclusive Cabin Design for IndiGo Stretch
The IndiGo Stretch cabin will feature 12 seats arranged in a comfortable 2-2 layout. Meanwhile, the standard 6E cabin will maintain its configuration of 208 seats, including XL seating options in the middle section of the aircraft.
By 2027, the airline will reportedly begin operating Airbus A350-900 planes, aimed at attracting travelers seeking more comfort on domestic routes. Currently servicing over 400 routes, including 34 international destinations, IndiGo is poised to expand its global presence further. The CEO also revealed plans to launch seven new international routes soon, enhancing the airline’s footprint in the global market.
