Two-wheeler riders are slowly beginning to understand the term “All the gear, all the time”, and how important it is. Speeding SUVs knocking down bikers on Indian roads, speeding supercars mowing down people, and the list goes on and on. Many riders prefer to be in full gear on the highway, but when it comes to everyday commutes, they leave the gear behind, and most do it for one reason — weight.
Riding gear is heavy, and a seasoned rider is accustomed to this. However, they could also do with something light for commutes, and that’s where the Acerbis Ramsey strikes a chord — it’s light, has Level 1 certified elbow and shoulder armours, and the provision for a back armour. For a little extra, the armours can be upgraded to Level 2 protection.
Acerbis Ramsey vented jacket review — Fit and features

The Ramsey jacket is not a sleek fit like the Via Terra ones, but it is slim. For those used to jackets from most brands, the Acerbis Ramsey feels like wearing a regular fleece, owing to its light construction. It is an all-day jacket, and I’ve personally never felt the need to take it off when stopping.
The jacket has two external pockets and one internal one, none of them are waterproof — bummer! However, that’s a small trade-off one has to live with if wanting breathable riding gear. The jacket itself is not waterproof, and light showers are enough to pass through, but it also dries up quickly. For heavier rains, a waterproof jacket is highly recommended.
Acerbis Ramsey vented jacket review — What we think
On the whole, we like it. However, for the asking price of Rs 9,999, there are a lot of choices that have Level 2 protection and come standard with elbow, shoulder, back, and chest armour. But the result is weight, again. If something light is what you’re looking for and all-day comfort, the Acerbis Ramsey is highly recommended. One waterproof pocket would make this an ideal jacket for many situations, as phones can be tucked away with ease.
