The battle begins, and fans are taking up after their favourite teams this IPL season. The match between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore is a battle that spans from the southern tip of India to the northernmost tip, as fans not just cheer for their favourite team, but also for Dhoni and Kohli.
As the two teams settle it in a match, we look at the two popular cricketers and their collection of cars, as Dhoni and Kohli are automobile enthusiasts and avid car collectors, owning some exotic cars. Here’s a detailed look.
Dhoni vs Kohli car collection
Former Indian captain MS Dhoni is famous for his automotive collection, especially his motorcycles, as he is often spotted riding them, cleaning them, or just giving them some TLC. The most popular vehicle in his garage that has been shared widely on social media is a fully restored Nissan Jonga.
The next most spoken vehicle in his garage is probably the Hummer H2, priced at around Rs 75 lakh, ex-showroom. Apart from the two mentioned, Dhoni has a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, a car popular amongst collectors globally. The Trans Am shares its garage with a Ferrari 599 GTO and a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow amongst a Mercedes GLE, a Pajero, a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, and Land Rovers.
Moving on to Virat Kohli, the cricketer had an extensive collection of cars, mostly from Audi, since he is the brand ambassador for the German carmaker. However, last year, Kohli announced that he sold most of his cars as they were ‘impulsive buys’ and never had time to enjoy them. The cricketer now has the necessary cars.
The cricketer, after selling most of his cars, it’s unclear as to what he owns currently, but there are a few luxury electric cars from Audi. His former collection included Audi R8s, a Q7, an RS5, a Range Rover, and others. So when we compare the car collection between Dhoni and Kolhi, the former comes out more as a petrol head, while Kohli has taken a step to embrace cleaner mobility.
