July 2025 Auto sales highlights: July comes to an end just like that, and today, carmakers and two-wheeler manufacturers will announce their sales figures for last month. In June 2025, we saw Maruti Suzuki lead sales – as usual – but the battle for second has been intense, and Mahindra had outsold Hyundai.
Best-sellers in June 2025
Among the top five best-selling carmakers, only two managed to post positive sales: Mahindra and Toyota. All other manufacturers – Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Tata Motors – saw a YoY decline in sales. In the two-wheeler segment, Hero MotoCorp was the leader, followed by Honda in second, albeit with a massive 19 percent decline.
Following Hero MotoCorp and Honda are TVS, Bajaj, and Royal Enfield. Among the three, Bajaj saw a decline in sales in June 2025, while TVS and Royal Enfield managed positive growth. Also, Royal Enfield managed to beat Suzuki to take over the fifth spot in sales, with a small margin.
EV sales are a space to look out for, as the rare earth crisis is slowly taking its toll. Bajaj had already reported that the Chetak, the company’s only electric offering in the two-wheeler space and India’s best-selling electric scooter, has seen its production halve, owing to China’s export restrictions.
Sales in July are expected to see a slowdown, as the rare earth crisis is showing its effect, and Bajaj was the first to announce its effect on its EV production. So, how has July 2025 treated Indian automakers? Can Mahindra hold its position, or will Hyundai make a strong comeback? Will Hero continue to hold its top spot in the two-wheeler segment? And most importantly, has the rare earth crisis given Ola the edge to lead EV sales? Here are all the updates of July 2025 auto sales, live.
