Magnite is Nissan’s most affordable offering in India. It is a smart-looking compact SUV that comes with the choice of either a 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine or a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol. While the NA engine only comes with a 5-speed manual transmission, the turbo-petrol can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT. The car looks modern and eye-catching from all sides thanks to the big grille at the front, sharp headlamp design and distinct-looking LED DRLs. Nissan is offering the Magnite in single and dual-tone options along with stylish 16-inch alloy wheels. There is a touchscreen infotainment system inside the cabin and the provision to add a wireless charging pad as well. It offers a decent amount of room for five people and has a boot space of 336 litres. One of the most lucrative aspects of the Magnite is its starting price of Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom).

    The Magnite is a stunning vehicle to look at. It boasts of a modern and sharp design language that is sure to catch many eyeballs. The massive front grille is flanked by projector LED headlamps and L shaped LED DRLs. At the side, one can spot the 16-inch dual-one alloy wheels, roof rails and side cladding that lend a sporty appeal to the vehicle. There is a big skid plate that dominates the lower portion at the rear while sleek tail lamps and the Magnite badge dominate the mid section.

    Magnite offers a decent amount of space for five occupants. There is plenty of headroom thanks to its tall height. The seats are decently comfortable although they do not offer any kind of heating or cooling feature. As part of the Tech-Pack, one can even get a wireless charging pad for their smartphones. Second row occupants do get their own AC vents and there is a foldable armrest as well. Thanks to a mostly flat bench and transmission tunnel, a person can sit in the middle with relative ease.

    Nissan is offering the Magnite with two petrol engine options. One of them is the B4D 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, naturally-aspirated engine that makes a humble 71hp and 96Nm. The other option is the HRA0 1.0-litre, turbo-petrol motor that spits out 98.6hp of peak power. Since this engine comes with a choice of either a 5-speed manual or a CVT, the torque output varies. The manual gearbox is good for 160Nm while the CVT produces 152Nm.

    Both engine options on the Nissan Magnite come paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox but the turbo variant also has the option of a CVT. The CVT is a great option for people who drive their vehicle mostly in the city during peak hours. With two-pedal technology, your journeys become a lot more comfortable. The manual gearbox works well too and only becomes a little notchy when you push it too hard.

  • Nissan Magnite Braking and Safety

    Magnite comes equipped with disc brakes in the front and drum brakes at the rear. It comes with ABS, EBD and anti-roll bar as standard. The brakes do a good job of slowing down this vehicle and bringing it to a halt when needed. However, the magnite only comes with dual front airbags across all models. The turbo-petrol model gets some additional features such as VDC, HSA, TCS and HBA.

  • Nissan Magnite Mileage

    Nissan claims that the turbo-petrol version of Magnite that comes with a manual gearbox can deliver a mileage of 20kmpl while the same engine, when paired with a CVT delivers 17.7kmpl. The NA variants have a claimed mileage of 18.75kmpl. These are rather impressive figures and make the Magnite an appealing option for buyers.
