The new 2019 Honda Civic is easily one of the best looking cars in the segment. The front end of the car gets sleek LED headlamps that not only look stunning but also offer better illumination than regular halogen units. Take a look at the car from the side and you will notice the sloping roofline that makes up for another important visual highlight. At the rear, you get Boomerang shaped LED tail lamp that looks equally appealing.
The cabin of the new 2019 Honda Civic looks a lot modern and premium compared to the eighth generation model that was on sale in India previously. The dashboard has a soft touch layer and the center console houses a seven inch colour touch screen that supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The steering wheel gets integrated audio, telephone and cruise contols to offer convenience.
The new 2019 Honda Civic drwas power from two engine options. First, the 1.8-litre petrol engine is good for developing a maximum power output of 141 bhp along with a peak torque of 174 Nm. On the other hand, the 1.6-litre diesel engine can produce 120 bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque.
The new 2019 Honda Civic is offered with two transmission options. While the petrol engine gets a CVT only, the diesel engine variants are available only with a six-speed manual gearbox. Both transmissions work smooth and precise and enhance the driving experience.
The new 2019 Honda Civic gets some segment first safety features that give it an edge over the competition. The car comes with a lane watch camera that projects the feed of the blind spot on the central display when the driver turns ON the left side indicator. Other safety features on the new Civic include ABS with EBD, Traction Control with VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist), six airbags, Hill Start Assist, ISOFIX mounts, Lane monitoring system and a rear parking display.
Honda claims that the diesel version of the new Civic delivers a class leading fuel economy of 26.8 kmpl. On the other hand, the petrol version of the luxury sedan can return 16.5 kmpl. With that being said, the new Civic is the most fuel efficient car in its segment when it comes to the diesel version.
