All the assumptions can be put to rest now as it’s official — Pramac Racing has signed up with Yamaha for the 2025 MotoGP season onwards to become the second factory team and will have two extra Factory Yamaha YZR-M1s on the grid.
Pramac Racing will be independently owned and will be based out of Rugby, UK. Post the official announcement, Pramac has also said that its rider lineup will be announced soon, and it will be interesting to see who Pramac signs up.
Pramac has been with Ducati for 20 years and in an official statement, the company said, “For the past 20 seasons, Pramac Racing has enjoyed a successful collaboration with Ducati, establishing itself as a formidable force in the MotoGP paddock. The decision to part ways with Ducati was not taken lightly and we thank them for a long and successful career together.”
For Yamaha, there has not been a satellite team since 2022, when RNF switched to Aprilia. Before RNF, Tech3 was with Yamaha from 2001 to 2018, after which the French team signed up with KTM.
