It’s another McLaren win at the Saudi Grand Prix, as Piastri takes the win, making it another for McLaren. The latest win has put the Aussie 10 points ahead of teammate Norris in the overall standings, keeping Red Bull’s Verstappen in third, just one point away from second. That said, the Saudi Grand Prix saw three teams take the podium — McLaren, Red Bull, and Ferrari.
F1 Saudi Grand Prix: The Race
Polesitter Max Verstappen and Piastri went straight into battle on turn 1, and Verstappen cut the apex to gain the edge and take the lead, however, he was handed a five-second penalty for the move and that put the Australian in the lead, where he sat comfortably till the finish. Piastri is the first Australian to lead the driver’s championship in 15 years, the last being Mark Webber.
Following Piastri was the current world champion, Verstappen, crossing the line 2.8 seconds after McLaren, followed by Ferrari’s Leclerc in thrid. The first lap of the race also saw Gasly and Tsunoda collide, retiring both drivers from the 50-lap Grand Prix, while also prompting the safety car onto the track.

McLaren’s Norris had to settle for fourth after an intense battle with Leclerc, while the Mercedes duo – George Russell and Kimi Antonelli – settled for fifth and sixth. Hamilton took seventh, adding points to the team. Rounding up the top were Sainz, Albon, and Hadjar.
