MotoGP was a welcome event in India, as F1 showed us a glimpse of what top-level motorsports can offer. When MotoGP was announced, it created a lot of excitement, and when the 2023 season did happen, fans just wanted more. However, things did not go well last year and as per a report by Autosport, 2025 might be a miss as well.
Bharat MotoGP — 2025 season also a miss
According to reports, Invest UP, an agency of the government of Uttar Pradesh, is facing financial difficulties in raising the money needed to conduct the event. Invest UP took over the 2025 promotions and signed a deal with Dorna Sports, the MotoGP rights holder, until 2029. The 2024 season was also cancelled due to the same reason.
The 2024 MotoGP India was cancelled citing bad weather amongst other reasons and it was supposed to take place in March 2025. However, with emerging financial trouble, the return seems highly unlikely. While the 2025 season calendar has not been finalised yet, places such as Thailand, Germany, Czechia and a new track in Hungary have been finalised.
Invest UP or the government of Uttar Pradesh have not commented about the race yet. If the race is likely to happen – highly unlikely since MotoGP is looking to make its final calendar public soon – it will be at the Buddh International Circuit.
