Stage 8 of the 2025 Dakar Rally sees KTM win a stage again, but in the hands of Benavides, while the overall leader in the cars category, Letgan, takes another stage victory. Toyota’s dominance continues this year, having won most of the stages in the form of factory racing or with privateers behind the wheel. That said, stage 8 of the 2025 Dakar Rally saw bikes cover a total distance of 733km, while the cars did 737km.

It was KTM taking the stage win again, as Benavides took his first stage victory this year. The Argentinian was followed by four Hondas — Van Beveren, Schareina, Brabec, and Howes. Honda is one man down, yesterday’s fourth to finish the stage, Pablo Quintanilla. The rider had a crash and is now out of race.
In the overall rankings, Danoel Sanders is still in the lead, followed by Schareina in second, and Van Beveren in third. Hero’s sole competitor, Nacho Cornejo, finished yesterday’s stage in ninth position and stands seventh overall.
2025 Dakar Rally Stage 8 results — Cars
In the cars category, the overall race leader took the stage win — Lategan. He was followed by fellow South African Toyota driver Botterill in second and Century Racing’s Serradori in third. Yazeed Al Rajhi finished the stage in sixth while Nasser Al-Attiyah crossed the line in eleventh position. In the overall standings, Lategan leads, with Al Rajhi just over five minutes behind him.
