How good can a custom-build be in six weeks? Leave it to Ric Steele of MotoMAX, teamed up with Billy of Rogue Motorcycles. An entry into Royal Enfield Australia’s ‘Busted Knuckles Build Off’, this Continental GT 650 is more than a new paint job and added fairing. The extensive custom job is riding on a lot of Benelli TNT 1130 running gear that comes from a written off TNT that had been lying with Ric. (Photo: Bikeexif)

Bikeexif writes that the swingarm conversion proved to be challenging. It had to be narrowed on both sides to mount it to the Enfield frame. The team wanted to maintain the classic vibe and hence went for a twin-shock setup. The frame was modified to space the front sprocket outwards and rear sprocket inwards to let the Benelli's six-inch wheel sit centered. (Photos: Bikeexif)

Ric and Billy wanted an endurance-style fairing like the early 90s Honda CBR250R MC22. Clive of Hammer Works was phoned in to fabricate the fairing from scratch along with a tail cowl. The bike was given a pair of stainless steel exhaust headers, designed to trace the original headers’ lines but with better performance in mind. (Photo: Bikeexif)

By the fifth week, the team began work on the new colour scheme. Distorted Paint and Restoration's Jay covered the frame and swingarm with candy teal while the rest of the body work was treated to a brushed and clear coated finish. “This color scheme has been on my to-do list for years. It was a perfect opportunity to finally get it,” Billy told Bikeexif. (Photo: Bikeexif)

The final details included all its new decals that were done by Shane at Graphic Addiction. Then the crew spent the rest of that evening prepping the bike for photos. The next day it was dragged into the studio, and the day after that it was off to Lang Park in Woolongong for the Australian Motorcycle Festival. (Photo: Bikeexif)
