Engine: The Africa Twin is powered by a 998cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke unicam 8-valve parallel twin engine with 270º crank, that produce 94 hp of power and 98 Nm of peak torque. With the parallel twin layout, Honda has been able to keep the motorcycle shorter from front to back, that assists in better handling and maneuverability.

Features: The Africa Twin can be quite a tall motorcycle for some riders, hence it comes with adjustable seat that can be positioned in tune with the foot pegs and the handlebar, and the ground. It comes with long travel suspension, that provides comfort for prolonged touring. The Africa Twin has Honda Selective Torque Control (HSTC) that provides three settings for different road conditions.

The motorcycle is available with either the standard six-speed manual gearbox, or Honda’s exclusive automatic six-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT). It comes equipped with ABS as standard, but it can be switched off, which is relevant for off-roading.

The 'Adventure' segment has been growing at a steady rate in the recent past in India and with the Africa Twin, Honda will be able to not just grab a pie of this growing segment but also expand its range of premium motorcycles, which presently isn't as extensive as some of its competitors.

Price and competitors: Expected to be priced between Rs 13 lakh and 14 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, that adventurer tourer will compete with the likes of the Triumph Tiger, the BMW 1200GS and the Ducati Multistrada Enduro.
