Looks pretty much like a concept which would shed most of the design cues when it does go into production but 'the one' pictured here is a in fact gone into production. Curtiss Motorcycles is one of the very few manufacturers that can bring wacky design ideas to reality and their electric motorcycle, the One, is one intriguing machine.

Curtiss, owned by Matt Chambers (from Confederate) and its lead designer JT Nesbitt (who has a strong CV – the Wraith, the G2 and Magnolia Special car, aims for a similar vibe as the Confederate. But, of course, in clean green electric way.

The One will roll out in the US market this year. 15 limited units of the ‘glenn h. curtiss founders edition’ model will be delivered this summer at USD 115,000 (approximately Rs 83.6 lakh) from the end of 2021, buyers will be able to purchase the ‘one’ version at USD 81,000 (approximately Rs 58.9 lakh) . 100 units of this version will be produced each year, with a wide range of customisations.

Claimed numbers are 120 hp at peak with a steady output of 87 hp and 199.3 Nm of peak torque, with a steady output of 163 Nm. It weighs in at 192.7 kg. Curtiss have not quoted any range or charging time figures yet.

The motor is capable of 217 bhp and 369 Nm but restricted for now. This something Curtiss call "future-proofing" the EV, as they aren't keen on pushing it to the limit yet. However, adjustable tuning will be available through OTA updates which would allow the customer the comfort of not having to visit a showroom for feature upgrades.
