All-new 2018 Hyundai Santro was launched in India on 23rd October amidst Hyundai's ongoing celebrations of completing 20 years in the country. The event was marked by the comeback of by far one of the most popular hatchbacks India has ever seen and its brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan getting candid about his association with the Santro for all these years.

The new Santro comes with a completely new design that is marked by Hyundai's Cascade grille up front. It retains the tallboy appeal that makes for better headroom and a raised driving position that allows better view for the driver.

New Hyundai Santro has been updated inside and out with enhanced features, including some that are first in the segment. This is the first time a hatchback in this segment features air-conditioner vents for the rear passengers.

2018 Hyundai Santro comes powered by a 1.1-litre petrol engine that produces 68 hp at 5500 rpm. It is also available with a factory-fitted CNG kit. It produces 58 hp at 5500 rpm when in running on CNG.

New Hyundai Santro's engine comes paired with a five-speed manual transmission and an optional AMT gearbox, which is available in the Magna and Asta variants. This is the first time the South Korean car manufacturer has featured a Hyundai-developed AMT.

All-new 2018 Hyundai Santro is available in five variants – D-Lite, Era, Magna, Spartz and Asta. It gets an option of seven colours – Star Dust, Marina Blue, Fiery Red, Polar White, Imperial Beige, Typhoon Silver and Diana Green.

On the inside, new Hyundai Santro is well-equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports smartphone connectivity through Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and MirrorLink. It also gets a rear parking camera and voice recognition.

The new Hyundai Santro will be back in competition against the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, which is also due to get an update soon. Besides the WagonR, the new Santro will compete with the likes of Tata Tiago, Maruti Suzuki Celerio, and Renault Kwid 1.0.

Hyundai Santro introductory prices starting at Rs 3.89 lakh will be offered to the first 50,000 customers. The new Santro will come with 'Santro First Care', which includes 3 years/1 lakh km warranty and three-year roadside assistance. Besides these, Hyundai is also offering Assured Same Day Service Delivery and service at customer doorstep.

Variant wise prices of the 2018 Hyundai Santro are – D-Lite – Rs 3.89 lakh, Era – Rs 4.24 lakh, Magna – Rs 4.57 lakh, Sportz – Rs 4.99 lakh, and Asta – Rs 5.45 lakh. CNG kit prices will vary from Rs 5.23 lakh to Rs 5.64 lakh.
