Tata Power has joined hands with Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. (TPEML), the electric vehicle (EV) division of Tata Motors, to inaugurate Mumbai’s first premium, large-scale EV charging hub under the TATA.ev MegaCharger initiative. This new charging infrastructure was inaugurated on World EV Day jointly by Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power and Shailesh Chandra, MD, TPEML.

This charging facility is strategically located near Terminal 2 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in the premises of The Leela Mumbai Hotel. he TATA.ev MegaCharger hub is designed to serve the city’s diverse mix of EV users— from private car owners to taxis, ride-hailing fleets, and logistics operators.
Commenting on the inauguration of the latest TATA.ev MegaCharger, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, TPEML and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., said, “Tata Motors has been at the forefront of India’s EV revolution – not only by delivering world-class electric vehicles, but also by supporting the development of a strong charging ecosystem. Tata MegaCharger details
The prime location also allows this MegaCharger hub to cater to the city’s business and tourists’ footfall, making clean mobility accessible to frequent flyers, hotel guests, and professionals in the bustling Andheri–Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC)–South Mumbai corridor. The facility houses eight high-speed DC chargers delivering up to 120 kW, spread across 16 charging bays, making it one of the city’s largest and most advanced EV charging hubs.
With the capacity to charge 16 vehicles at once, it minimizes wait times and ensures a smooth experience even during peak demand. These MegaChargers from Tata.ev are open to all EV users but offer exclusive benefits for TATA.ev customers, including an exclusive discount of up to 25 percent and priority access to the charger.
These charging services will be conveniently accessible via the Tata Power EZ Charge App, which already has over 4 lakh registered users, and will soon be integrated into the iRA.ev Connected Car app for Tata.ev owners. With a network comprising more than 5,500 public and captive charging points, 1.4 lakh-plus home chargers, and over 1,200 bus charging facilities across 630+ cities and towns—including more than 1,000 points in Mumbai—Tata Power has established the most extensive EV charging infrastructure in India.
This network spans highways, airports, tourist destinations, malls, residential complexes, and commercial hubs, thereby catering to all categories of EV users. Looking ahead, Tata Power aims to expand its footprint to 7.5 lakh home chargers and 10,000 public charging points by 2030, reinforcing its commitment to building a sustainable and future-ready green mobility ecosystem.
