Porsche has recalled the Taycan in India, however, the company has yet to make an official statement. The recall affects 176 units of the Porsche Taycan due to a possible defect with the battery module. The electric sedan owners are advised to call the nearest Porsche outlet for the fix and more details.
Porsche Taycan recall — What is the reason?
According to reports, the recall is over a manufacturing defect with the battery module from the supplier side, which could lead to a short circuit within the battery call and eventually cause a fire. This is a similar reason as to why the Audi e-tron range was recalled in India.
The vehicles affected by the recall are made between 21 October 2019 and 4 March 2024. Porsche is expected to fix the issue free of cost for the customers, however, the fix could be a complicated task as the battery pack sits on the floor of the vehicle. There are no details regarding the fix or the recall at the moment.
