Porsche has launched the much-awaited Macan EV, which is the company’s first all-electric SUV. Ever since the launch of the Macan ten years ago, Porsche has decided to take out its second generation edition which will be an-electric SUV. Sticking to its design philosophy and performance, the Macan EV adds long-distance range and fulfils the requirements of Porsche customers choosing an SUV.

Porsche has launched the new e-SUV in two trims — Macan 4 and the new Macan Turbo. In India, the Macan Turbo starts from Rs 1.65 crore. The bookings are now open and the deliveries are set to begin in the second half of the year.

Porsche Macan EV: Platform and Performance

Macan EV is based on the brand new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with 800-volt architecture, which was developed with Audi for the Q6 e-tron. The DC charging output is up to 270 kW and can juice up the battery from 10 to 80 per cent within around 21 minutes.

Both the Macan variants are powered by a 95kWh battery with dual motors on each axle and an all-wheel-drive setup. The Macan 4 has an output of 400bhp and 650Nm. It sprints from 0-100 kmph in 5.2 seconds with a top speed of 220 kmph. The Macan Turbo, on the other hand, delivers 630bhp and 1,130Nm. From a standstill to 100 kmph, the Macan Turbo takes 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 260 kmph.

Even though the Macan EV looks similar to its internal combustion engine version, it receives distinctive four-point daytime running lights and due to the split headlight design, the lights are positioned slightly lower in the front bumper. It continues to have frameless doors and a connected LED connected light.

In terms of luggage space, the rear has 540 litres with the bench up. The Macan EV also comes with an 84-litre frunk luggage compartment under the bonnet.
