Bengaluru-based EV startup, Orxa Energies launched its first product, the Mantis electric motorcycle recently, priced at Rs 3.6 lakh ex-showroom. Targeted at the entry-level performance motorcycle segment, the Mantis features an angular design language and claimed performance to match ICE motorcycles.
One important aspect in this segment is that riders will want to take the motorcycle on short trips on weekends and to do that, they need certain accessories such as crash protection, or storage to carry the charger along, and Orxa is offering these exact add-ons. Here’s a list of accessories for the new Orxa Mantis.
Protection
Protecting the motorcycle from minor falls and damages is crucial, and to tackle this situation, the Orxa Mantis comes with crash guards that protect the battery pack, tank, handlebar, levers, and bodywork. The simple, yet effective crash protection comes standard and safeguards the Mantis from minor falls and low-speed crashes.
Luggage
On the luggage front, Orxa Energies offers a 45-litre top box, which can accommodate a full-face helmet, or carry the 3.3kW fast charger that can juice up the battery pack from 0 to 85 percent in 2.5 hours. The top box can carry 15kg, which is more than enough to carry the charger or other luggage.
There are side panniers on offer as well, which have a 30-litre volume and can carry up to 15kg. This is offered along with saddle stays that bolt onto either side of the Mantis. The saddle stays without the side panniers and offers protection to a certain limit, however, they intend to carry the side panniers.
The company has not revealed pricing details for the accessories, which will be announced closer to its delivery time, which is scheduled for April 2024. Also, our first ride review of the Orxa Energies Mantis drops tomorrow, so stay tuned to learn more about the electric motorcycle.
