Ola has launched its new third-generation electric scooters, and the range-topping S1 Pro gets a new variant—S1 Pro+. Owing to the new platform and redesigned motor, the entire range of Ola electric scooters has now become more affordable. They all feature chain drive, replacing the older belt-drive mechanism. The S1 Pro range now starts at Rs 1.14 lakh, ex-showroom.

The scooters have seen slight design updates that include a new seat which is now longer as per Ola, and the addition of a few decals to give it a sporty look. That said, key differences between the Ola S1 Pro and the Ola S1 Pro+ lie in the internals. Let’s take a closer look at the differences.

On the design front, the S1 Pro sees no major changes, apart from the addition of new colours and a longer seat. Internally, there are several changes. The S1 Pro range now gets the company’s new brake-by-wire tech that uses sensors, allowing the motor to help with braking. That said, the new S1 Pro Gen 3 is available in two variants: 3kWh and 4kWh.

The Ola S1 Pro with the 3kWh battery pack has a claimed range of 176km with a top speed of 117kmph. Ola claims an acceleration of 0–40kmph in 2.7 seconds, while the battery pack can be charged fully at home in nine hours. The scooter gets three ride modes: Sports, Normal, and Eco, while the Sports mode is a paid feature.

The Ola S1 Pro Gen 3 with the 4kWh battery pack comes with a claimed range of 242km on a full charge. Ola says the top speed is 125kmph while the scooter can accelerate from 0–40kmph in 2.7 seconds — same as the 3kWh version. Charging takes six hours and includes four ride modes – Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco – while the Hyper mode is a paid feature.
