Ola Electric has been issued another show cause notice by the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA), seeking additional documents and information in regard to the consumer complaints raised by customers earlier this year. In a regulatory filing (dated December 4), the company said it has 15 days to respond to the CCPA.
Ola Electric show cause notice — What is it about?
The CCPA first issued a shake cause notice to Ola Electric on October 7, after over 10,000 customers raised complaints about the company’s poor service, customer care, misleading advertisements, and more. In response, Ola issued a statement on October 21 claiming that 99.1 percent of the complaints have been resolved. The CCPA received 10,644 complaints.
Ola Electric has been in the spotlight for poor service, scooter quality, software issues and hardware malfunctions. To address this issue, Ola announced that it would increase its service network by four-fold, adding 4000 touch points within the next 15 days.
Ola, in the filing, has also mentioned that the latest development does not impact financial, operational, or other business activities, nor does it involve penalties or fines.
