Ultraviolette, the EV startup from Bengaluru, has updated its F77 electric motorcycle and has named it the F77 Mach 2. The first-generation motorcycle seemed to have it all, range, top speed, acceleration, handling, and presence. However, Ultraviolette has managed to add a bit more to all of these aspects.

So what’s new with the F77 Mach 2 compared to the older motorcycle? Here’s a detailed look at the updates the motorcycle has received.

Design and colour

The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 retains the exact design of the previous-generation motorcycle, which is a blend of a fully-faired sport bike and a naked street bike. However, the launch of new colour options has made the Mach 2 more appealing.

The F77 Mach 2 gets three main colour themes – Laser, Shadow, and Airstrike – which are further divided into three colour options each, giving the F77 a total of nine shades to choose from.

Battery specifications and range

The new F77 Mach 2 uses the same battery packs, a 7.1 kWh unit in the standard variant and a 10.3 kWh unit in the Recon trim. With the top-spec Recon variant, the range has gone up to 323km, while its 0 to 60kmph acceleration has reduced to 2.8 seconds, and its top speed has seen a slight increase to 155 kmph.

In terms of charging, the new F77 Mach 2 takes three hours to charge from 20% – 80% while the Recon version takes five hours. That said, with the boost charger, the same charge levels can be achieved in 1.5 hours and 2.5 hours respectively.

Hardware and electronics

In terms of hardware, the Mach 2 retains all the stuff such as USD forks, a monoshock at the rear, disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS, 17-inch wheels, clip-on bars, LED lighting, a TFT display, and more. However, on the electronics front, there are updates.

The F77 Mach 2 gets a traction control system with four levels, which can also be turned off completely, 10 levels of regen mode, hill hold assist, and a Dynamic Stability Control system. These features are standard on the Recon variant, while some are an optional extra with the standard version.
