The Indian electric motorcycle segment sees yet another new addition — the mXmoto M16 electric cruiser, launched at Rs 1.98 lakh ex-showroom. The company offers a host of benefits, including an 8-year warranty for the battery pack, a 3-year warranty on the motor controller, and a full metal body. Let’s take a closer look at the mXmoto M16.
mXmoto M16: Design and equipment
Unlike street nakeds like most electric motorcycle brands, mXmoto has chosen to build a cruiser, a segment that has few contenders, even in the ICE segment. The M16 is made of highly resistant metal body says the company, making it ideal for Indian conditions.Â
The mXmoto M16 gets a muscular tank, a round headlight with a small flyscreen, a single-piece seat with a classic step-up design, a wide handlebar, USD forks, dual rear shocks, 17-inch wheels, disc brakes at both ends and forward-set foot pegs.Â
mXmoto M16: Battery specifications and features

The mXmoto M16 is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack and the company claims a range of 160-220km on a full charge. That said, the company claims that the battery pack can be recharged from 0 to 90 percent in three hours, while the hub-mounted motor generated 140Nm of torque. The company has not revealed details about the size of the battery pack or the M16’s acceleration and top speed.
Like most electric vehicles, the mXmoto M16 gets a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity with onboard navigation, call notifications, and a music system. The motorcycle also gets cruise control, park assist, reverse mode, and hill start assist amongst others.
