January has seen a price increase in most vehicles and the latest to make it to the news is the MG Comet, the most affordable electric car on sale in India currently. The MG Comet EV has seen a price hike of up to Rs 19,000 on select variants and the Comet now costs Rs 7 lakh – Rs 9.8 lakh, ex-showroom.
MG Comet EV price hike: Variant-wise details
The MG Comet EV is available in four variants — Executive, Excite, Exclusive, and 100-year edition. Amongst the four variants, the range-topping 100-year edition has seen a price increase of Rs 19,000 when opted with the fast charger.
The Exclusive variant of the MG Comet EV is also Rs 19,000 more expensive when bundled with the fast charger option, while it is Rs 14,000 more expensive without the fast charger. The Excite variant of the Comet EV is dearer by Rs 12,000, while it is Rs 17,000 more expensive when combined with the fast charger. The prices for the entry-level Executive variant remains unchanged.
The MG Comet is offered with a standard 17.3kWh battery pack that offers a range of 230km on a full charge. The MG Comet primarily rivals the Tata Tiago electric in the market, while the new Vayve Mobility’s Eva will also be a competitor with a much lower price tag when deliveries begin.
