Kia is yet to offer a mass-market electric vehicle, and with the success of the new Syros, Kia is banking on the name and is expected to launch an all-electric Syros soon, according to various reports. Kia is currently working on the all-electric Carens, which will be launched in India soon.
New Kia Syros EV — What to expect?
When launched, the Kia Syros EV will be Kia’s most affordable electric vehicle. Expected to be launched in 2026, the Kia Syros EV could likely use the same underpinnings and electric powertrain as the Carens EV, which is a modified version of Hyundai’s K2 platform, which also underpins the Creta EV.
In terms of design and features, the Kia Syros EV is expected to retain the same design, albeit with a few touches and tweaks to differentiate the Syros ICE from the EV. The interior is also expected to remain unchanged, along with features such as the infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, a touchpad for climate control, and more.
Safety features will also be carried forward such as multiple airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors, vehicle stability management, front and rear parking sensors, a traction control system with modes, and more. The Kia Syros has earned a five-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP and the upcoming Syros EV is expected to do the same.
