Hyundai is currently testing the updated Ioniq 5, which was spotted for the first time in India. Even though the electric vehicle was completely camouflaged with an additional cover over the tailgate area, it was quite evident that it was the 2025 facelift Ioniq, which made its global debut last year.
2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5: What’s new?
The major update the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 gets is the larger 84 kWh battery pack as the current version in India only comes with a 72.6 kWh battery pack. The electric motor produces 277 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 185 kmph. According to Hyundai, the 84 kWh RWD version returns a range of 511 km while the AWD offers 467 km. With a 250 kW DC fast charger, the 84 kWh battery juices up from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes.Â
In dimensions, the new EV is 4,655 mm in length, 1890 mm in width, 1605 in height and based on a 3000 mm wheelbase. Hyundai has improved the EV’s aerodynamics as the rear spoiler has increased 50 mm. In terms of length, the new Ioniq is 20 mm longer than the current model.
Hyundai has updated the Ioniq 5’s design, featuring a revised front fascia, larger front and rear fenders, and new alloy wheels, available in 18-inch to 20-inch sizes in the global market.
2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5: Features
The new Ioniq 5 sports a brand new three-spoke steering wheel with an updated 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, top trims get an 8-speaker Bose music system, a 15W wireless phone charger, charging ports in front and rear and dual-zone climate control. Moving on safety, it is equipped with Level 2 ADAS with functions like blind-spot collision-avoidance Assist (BCA), blind-spot view monitor, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, forward collision-avoidance assist along with 8 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, vehicle stability management etc.
