2025 is set to be a turning point for India’s electric four-wheeler market, as the country’s top two automakers enter the affordable EV segment for the first time. Maruti Suzuki unveiled the e Vitara in Milan last November, while Hyundai recently shared the specifications of the upcoming Creta Electric ahead of its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Interestingly, the e Vitara, which directly rivals the Creta Electric, will also be officially launched at the same expo. The two new electric SUVs will face tough competition from models like the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv, and Mahindra BE 6. Here’s a closer look at how the Creta Electric and e Vitara compare to their rivals.
Hyundai Creta EV vs competitors: Battery Packs

Hyundai has revealed that the Creta Electric will be available with two battery options: a 42 kWh and a 51.4 kWh pack. Compared to other EV SUVs, the Hyundai Creta features the smallest battery size, which could allow the company to price the entry-level model more aggressively. The 51.3 kWh variant is larger than the MG ZS EV’s battery, although it’s worth noting that the ZS EV only offers one battery option. On the other hand, the Mahindra BE 6 comes with the largest battery packs, starting at 59 kWh, surpassing both the Tata Curvv and the Creta EV’s top variants. The BE 6’s top model even boasts an enormous 79 kWh battery. Additionally, the Maruti e Vitara could be the first in this segment to offer both a single-motor 2WD option and an electric 4WD variant with twin motors.
Electric SUVs | Battery Specifications |
Hyundai Creta Electric | 42 kWh & 51.4 kWh |
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara | 49 kWh & 61 kWh |
Mahindra BE 6 | 59 kWh & 79 kWh |
Tata Curvv EV | 45 kWh & 55 kWh |
MG ZS EV | 50.3 kWh |
Hyundai Creta EV vs Competitors: Range Showdown

The Hyundai Creta Electric’s battery capacity brings its range into focus, and it has the lowest claimed range among its rivals. Hyundai claims that the 42 kWh battery offers a range of up to 390 km, while the 51.4 kWh version provides a range of 473 km. In comparison, the Tata Curvv’s 45 kWh model claims over 500 km, and the 55 kWh variant is rated for 585 km. The international version of the Maruti e Vitara claims a range of up to 550 km. Meanwhile, the Mahindra BE 6, with its 59 kWh battery, offers a range of 535 km, and the 79 kWh model pushes the limit to 682 km, based on ARAI ratings.
