Chinese EV maker BYD is the largest electric car maker in the world and now, the company has plans to set foot into the two-wheeler space with its first product, a Maxi Scooter. Also note, BYD is the world’s second-largest battery manufacturer as well.
Now, coming back to the scooter, the leaked images show a Maxi Scooter, something that resembles the likes of the Suzuki Burgman and the Yamaha T-Max. However, BYD will use its expertise to keep the costs under check to cater to a larger audience.
According to the images, the scooter gets a large front apron with a tall windshield, sporty panels, USD forks, large wheels with twin disc brakes at the front, dual rear shocks, twin headlight design, and more. The batteries could be placed on the floorboard to keep the weight low down.
There are no details about the motor or power figures, however, the upcoming 2024 EICMA could possibly be the stage for its unveiling. The scooter will most likely go on sale in Chine first, followed by other global markets.
