The second edition of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 is set to begin on January 17, 2025, and will feature a head-to-head clash of electric SUVs — the Hyundai Creta Electric and the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. The e-Vitara will mark Maruti Suzuki’s debut in the Indian electric vehicle market, while the Creta Electric will be Hyundai’s first mass-market EV in India. Both automakers have confirmed that these two electric SUVs will make their debut on January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi.
Hyundai Creta EV vs Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Specs and Range

Hyundai has confirmed that the Creta Electric will be offered with two battery pack options — a 42 kWh and a 51.4 kWh variant. According to ARAI, the 42 kWh battery provides a range of 390 km, while the 51.4 kWh version delivers an impressive 473 km. The Creta Electric will be available in five variants: Executive, Smart, Smart (O), Premium, and Excellence. Hyundai claims that the 51.4 kWh version accelerates from 0 to 10 kmph in just 7.9 seconds.
When it comes to charging, the Creta EV can be charged from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 58 minutes using a DC fast charger. Alternatively, with an 11 kW AC home charger, the battery can be fully charged from 10 per cent in 4 hours.
Based on the details Suzuki has revealed for the international market, the e-Vitara will be available with three powertrain options: a 49 kWh, 61 kWh front-wheel-drive (2WD), and 61 kWh four-wheel-drive (4WD). The 49 kWh version produces 142 bhp and both the 61 kWh 2WD variant and the 49 kWh version deliver 189 Nm of torque. The 61 kWh 4WD model generates a total output of 181 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, with the front motor producing 172 bhp and the rear motor contributing 64 bhp.

Hyundai Creta EV vs Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Features

Hyundai has confirmed that the Creta Electric will sport a 10.25-inch dual display including the infotainment system and instrument console. The e Vitara is expected to get a similar configuration. The Creta Electric comes with features like Vehicle-to -Load which gives the option of charging devices and even home appliances, a dual-zone automatic climate control, a cooled glove box, a front armrest with cool storage space, 286 voice commands, panoramic sunroof and over 70 connected features. The Creta EV is equipped with a Shift-by-Wire system, single pedal drive, digital key and 8-speaker Bose sound system.
While Maruti Suzuki has yet to reveal the specific features of the e-Vitara, it is expected to offer a similar range of equipment. Both the e-Vitara and Creta Electric will be equipped with a host of safety features, including six airbags, Hill-Start Assist Control, Hill Descent Control, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, a 360-degree camera, all four disc brakes, and Level 2 ADAS.
Both the Hyundai Creta Electric and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will have their hands full as they will go up against the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV and the Mahindra BE 6.
