There are two things most kids have grown up dreaming of — a sports car, preferably Italian, and fighter jets. What if these two ultimate machines can be combined together, and the best part is you get to make it from the ground up? Sounds like a movie from the Lego franchise, but, believe it or not, a man in Kerala did make this happen. Meet Bibin, who took handmade cars to another level as he built his own Lamborghini Huracan from scrap. Forget the Frog Prince fairy tale story; this is the stuff legends are made of. Bipin was interviewed by a vlogger, Arun Smoki, from Kerala, who asked him how he managed to create his dream car in reality.
From scrapyard to supercar: Made-in-India Lamborghini
In the YouTube video, Bibin reveals that the building of the Lamborghini has been a three-year project. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, he has managed to complete around 70% of the made-in-Kerala Huracan. Bibin stated that he has already spent around Rs 1.5 lakh on this sports car project.
The million-dollar question in everyone’s mind that’s screaming out is, ‘How and where are you getting the car parts from?’ Bipin spills the beans on this as he spent days on days and months on months scoping out scrapyards and spoke to local hardware shops. Obviously, he couldn’t source carbon fibre parts, so he used cardboard to craft the body of the Lamborghini with fibreglass. He sourced all the parts and made everything from his home. In order to maintain the Lamborghini’s original appearance, Bipin incorporated the stunning butterfly doors. He also showed ingenuity by attaching a car jack powered by a compact wiper motor, which enables effortless nose and height adjustments at the push of a button.
Step back and feast your eyes on this Lamborghini. It is perfectly proportioned; you’ll wonder if it’s ready to star in a car beauty pageant. What will knock the wind out of you if I tell you what wheels Bibin has used? Wait for it! He sourced it from Lord Alto. Yes, the one and only popular Maruti Suzuki hatchback. The made-in-Kerala Lamborghini is powered by a Maruti 800’s engine and designed and built a custom exhaust system entirely made at home.
The limited-edition Bipin Huracan is just a fresh coat of paint and a few beauty tweaks away from turning every head and maybe a few necks on the road.
Epic online meltdown
After watching the YouTube video, netizens couldn’t believe what they saw — a handmade, made-in-India, homemade Lamborghini that’s sourced from scrapyards and powered by a Maruti 800 powertrain.
One person wrote wishing Bipin all the best in completing the project, “I have seen such an impossible talent on YouTube channels in foreign countries. A car like this is also available in our country. Anyway, it is cool. I really want to see the final look of the car. May my wish come true soon. Wish you all the best.” Another person, @OSITO-OSO, praised Bipin’s talent, “Damn he have some serious skills … appreciate you’re dedication.” One @balukrishna7096 wrote, “Absolutely mind-blowing! Turning scrap into a stunning Art takes skill, patience, and pure passion. Hats off to you for making the impossible look possible!”
