Honda Cars India recently launched the third-generation Amaze, but what caught many by surprise was the absence of a factory-fitted CNG kit option. Given the growing demand for CNG vehicles, Honda didn’t want to miss out on this opportunity. As a result, the Amaze can now be retrofitted with a CNG kit.
Honda Amaze CNG: How to buy one?
Customers interested in purchasing an Amaze CNG can directly contact official Honda dealers, who will assist in converting the petrol sedan to CNG. The dealers have partnered with RTO-approved CNG centres for the retrofit process. Honda has assured customers that this conversion will not affect the vehicle’s warranty.
Pricing is a key factor, with the current Amaze starting at Rs 8 lakh and going up to Rs 9.70 lakh (ex-showroom) for manual models only. According to Gurmeet Singh Sudan, Head of Product Planning at Honda Cars India, the CNG variants will cost around Rs 1 lakh more than the standard petrol versions. The CNG Amaze will be available solely with a manual transmission and in all three variants—V, VX, and ZX.

Honda expects the CNG version of the Amaze to contribute conservatively to the model’s overall sales. Takuya Tsumura, President & CEO of Honda Cars India, mentioned that the previous generation Amaze CNG made up about 10 per cent of total sales, and they anticipate a similar share for the 2024 Amaze.
Is the 2nd-gen Amaze finished?
Not yet. Honda will continue selling both the previous and current generation Amaze models. The older 2nd-gen Amaze will still be available for private buyers and commercial fleets. It is offered in two variants—S and VX—only with a 5-speed manual transmission. Like the new generation, the 2nd-gen model can also be retrofitted with a CNG kit at authorized Honda dealerships.
