Volvo XC40 Recharge Single motor bookings open

The rear-wheel-drive Volvo XC40 Recharge is priced at Rs 54.95 lakh and can be exclusively booked online.

Volvo India has opened the booking of the XC40 Recharge Single exclusively online. Customers can log in to Volvo India’s official website and book the EV SUV at Rs 1 lakh. The XC40 Recharge is the third electric vehicle from Volvo which is being assembled at the Hosakote plant in Bengaluru, Karnataka, after the XC40 Recharge twin motors and the C40 Recharge. 

Volvo XC40 Recharge Single: Performance and Range

The XC40 Recharge Single is powered by a single motor on the rear axle. The electric SUV has an output of 235bhp and 420Nm of torque. According to Volvo, the XC40 Recharge Single does 0 to 100 km in 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 180 kmph. It gets a 69 kWh battery capacity and offers a range of 475 km based on WLTP and according to ICAT 592 km.

Volvo XC40 Recharge Single: Features

The XC40 Recharge Single comes packed with features like a 5-year subscription for digital services, and a nine-inch Google built-in infotainment system including Google Assistant, Google Play and Google Maps. It also comes with connected technology and an eight-speaker 250W sound system. In terms of safety, the XC40 Recharge gets seven airbags, lane keeping aid, adaptive cruise control, blind spot front and rear mitigation and parking sensors. 

Volvo XC40 Recharge Single: Price and Competition

Volvo launched the XC40 Recharge Single at Rs 54.95 lakh, ex-showroom, making it around Rs 3 lakh more affordable than its twin motor avatar. Its direct rival is the Hyundai Ioniq 5 which starts from Rs 46.05 lakh. Other EVs in that price range is the recently launched BYD Seal which starts from Rs 41 lakh to Rs 53 lakh. There’s also the Kia EV6 at Rs 60.95 lakh.
