Volvo may not have had a dream run in India to date, but things are starting to look up for the Swedish carmaker in 2017. Having sold 2029 cars in India over the course of the year, Volvo India has recorded their best ever performance in the country after a year that saw the luxury segment grow and expand.  According to Volvo this tremendous growth spurt in sales comes on the back of new product launches, successful start of local assembly, network expansion and exemplary brand engagement programmes.

Charles Frump, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India shared, “The Year 2017 indeed has been a record year for us as we witnessed the introduction of some exciting products S60 Polestar, V90 Cross Country and the all new XC60. Successful roll-out of the first locally assembled car, the XC90 emphasises our commitment to India and it is a significant step in our achievement of targets. We are on track to double our segment share to 10% by the end of 2020. 2018 looks even more exciting with a full year sale of the New XC60 and on exciting compact luxury SUV scheduled to be launched mid-year.”

Volvo has been in India over the course of almost a decade now establishing its presence in 2007, since then the company has worked towards growth and trying to earn a place in the market usually dominated by the German Auto Trinity. Volvo Cars currently markets products through its dealerships in South Delhi, West Delhi, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam, Kolkata, Vijayawada, Jaipur, Pune, Ludhiana and Lucknow.
