2024 will witness plenty of car launches ranging from facelifts to all-new models. Same is the case for Kia which has some crucial launches lined up for the next year. Let us look at all the prospective launches from the Korean carmaker in 2024.
Kia Sonet facelift
Kia revealed the facelifted Sonet in its entirety earlier this month, bookings for the same have already started. The company is expected to announce prices for the updated subcompact SUV in the first half of January 2024, with deliveries likely to follow suit. The new Sonet gets noticeable styling tweaks and crucial feature upgrades. Specs remain largely unchanged barring the addition of a conventional 6-speed gearbox for the diesel engine.

New-gen Kia Carnival
Kia’s flagship model in India– Carnival– is due for a major upgrade this year. While the third generation of Carnival made its global debut in 2020, it never made it to India. The model received a comprehensive overhaul in October this year and the same iteration will go on sale in India.

Kia silently discontinued the second-gen Carnival from the Indian market earlier this year. Internally codenamed KA4, a concept prototype of the same was displayed at the latest edition of Auto Expo held earlier in January this year.
Kia EV9
Kia will also bring out its flagship all-electric vehicle to the country– EV9, later this year. Like EV6, EV9 will also be a fully imported CBU model and will be priced at a premium, upwards of Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom). Showcased as a concept at the 2023 Auto Expo, the EV9 will be the first three-row EV in India (not including BYD E6 which is reserved for fleet operations). Kia is expected to offer EV9 in both 2WD and 4WD guises with an estimated range of around 400-500 km, depending on the variant.

Kia subcompact SUV
It is rumoured that Kia is working on a subcompact SUV for the Indian market. Recently, it was reported that the company filed a new trademark with the name ‘Clavis’. We believe the Korean carmaker will use this trademark for this upcoming subcompact SUV, which is likely to be slotted below the Sonet and most likely to be a platform sibling of Hyundai Exter.
