Maruti Suzuki has been consistently updating its vehicles with more safety features. The latest to join the club is the XL6, which comes under Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa brand. The entire lineup of the MPV is now equipped with 6 airbags, as previously it only came with four. It gets a fraction of a price hike at 0.8%.

Maruti Suzuki’s aim is to ensure that by the end of this year, all its vehicles will come standard with 6 airbags. With the XL6 now equipped with this feature, only the Fronx, S-Presso, and Ignis remain. With a price hike of 0.8%, the cost is from Rs 7,000 to around Rs 10,000 based on the variant.

The MPV is packed with other safety features like ABS with ESP and brake assist, Hill Hold Assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, a speed alert system, a seat belt reminder, rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.

Maruti Suzuki XL6: Features

The XL6 comes standard with connected tech or Suzuki Connect, which offers additional safety functions, driving behaviour analysis and alerts and notifications like speeding. It also comes with remote functions like air conditioning, smartwatch connectivity, and switching on headlights and hazard lights. The MPV has a 7-inch infotainment system, voice assistance, Type-C chargers for all three rows, four speakers and two tweeters along with the Arkamys sound system, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Maruti Suzuki XL6: Engine Specifications

 The XL6 offers one engine option, the tried-and-tested 1.5-litre petrol engine with idle start and stop. There’s also a CNG trim available. The petrol model churns out 101.6 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 139 Nm at 4,300 rpm. It is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converter. According to Maruti Suzuki, the manual version returns a mileage of 20.90 kmpl and 20.27 kmpl for the automatic.

 The CNG model produces an output of 86.6 bhp and 121.5 Nm with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It has a CNG tank capacity of 45 litres and has an average of 26.23 km/kg.
