We recently reported that Tata Motors will launch Sierra and Sierra.ev in this financial year. A closer-to-production prototype was displayed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year. Test mules of the SUV have been frequently caught on camera over the past few months.
Till now all spy images of the Sierra have been focussed on its exterior while its interiors still remain a mystery. Even at the Expo this year, Tata kept interiors of the Sierra concealed to the last bit. However, the latest spy images reveal a major chunk about the upcoming SUV’s interiors, especially the dashboard.
Tata Sierra, Sierra EV: Interiors leaked
The spy shots reveal a brand new dashboard layout for the Sierra which is very different from any Tata model currently on sale. The Sierra will be the first Tata passenger vehicle to get a triple-screen layout housed within the dashboard. This includes a central touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital driver’s instrument panel, and a dedicated screen for the front passenger. Each screen is expected to measure 12.3 inches.

A similar screen arrangement is also seen in the Mahindra XEV 9e. Other feature upgrades offered in Tata Sierra and Sierra EV are dual-tone dashboard, Harrier EV-like four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and ambient lights, a Harman sound system panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger and ventilated front seats. In terms of safety, expect Sierra to come with six airbags, 360-degree cameras, electronic stability control (ESC), and Level 2 ADAS.
Tata Sierra, Sierra EV: Exterior design
As showcased at the Expo earlier this year, Tata Motors has reimagined the iconic Sierra by merging contemporary design with its classic appeal. While the original’s large rear glass area has been redesigned to meet modern safety standards, it now offers enhanced occupant protection.

At the front, the new Sierra features a bold and confident stance, highlighted by sleek LED DRLs positioned under the bonnet, a gloss black grille, vertically stacked LED headlamps, and a robust metal skid plate. The side profile retains the SUV’s signature boxy shape, now enhanced by a dual-tone floating roof and eye-catching alloy wheels. At the rear, a connected LED tail light and the ‘Sierra’ badging under the Tata logo add a touch of sophistication to the overall design.
Tata Sierra, Sierra EV: Expected Powertrain
As reported previously, Tata is set to launch the Sierra in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric variants. The EV version is likely to precede the ICE derivative. The ICE version is likely to feature a 1.5-litre TGDi turbo-petrol engine along with a 2.0-litre diesel option, both expected to be offered with manual and automatic transmissions.
The electric Sierra will share its powertrain with the Harrier EV and is expected to come with 65kWh and 75kWh battery pack options. A dual-motor setup could deliver up to 504Nm of torque, supporting an all-wheel-drive layout.
