The Punch is one of the highest-selling, if not the best-selling, passenger vehicle of Tata Motors in the past couple of years. First launched in 2021, it is the smallest SUV in Tata’s lineup. The company is now gearing up to bring out its first major facelift soon. A test mule of the same was recently caught testing.
The latest spy shots have reportedly been clicked in Pune and show a fully camouflaged test unit of Punch. Although the images don’t reveal a whole lot about the updated design of the Punch, they are clear enough to conclude that the facelifted model will be based on the new design language which is seen in Punch EV, launched in early 2024.
2025 Tata Punch facelift: Expected Design
At the front, the facelifted Tata Punch will adopt Tata Motors’ latest digital design language, which debuted with the Nexon EV last year. As an electric vehicle, the new Punch features a closed-off front grille and a sleek, connected LED DRL strip positioned just below the bonnet. This DRL band is also expected to function as sequential turn indicators.

The micro SUV retains its signature split headlamp setup but updates it with vertically stacked LED headlights and LED fog lamps, which now include a cornering function. While the overall silhouette remains unchanged, the updated Punch sports new 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the design is largely the same, with only subtle updates to the internal elements of the LED taillights.
2025 Tata Punch facelift: Expected Interiors & Features
The spy shots also give us a sneak peek into the cabin of the Punch facelift. The dashboard design is in line with the latest crop of cars by Tata Motors including the recently launched Altroz facelift. This includes a larger 10.25-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system taking centre stage. This infotainment for Harman is very advanced and packs wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with iRA connected car suite and multiple voice commands.

There’s also Tata’s new flat-bottom steering wheel with an illuminated logo at the centre and toggle buttons at the sides for various controls. The images show that the test unit gets a 5-speed manual gearbox. Below the dashboard, the Punch facelift will also get a new climate control panel along with an array of charging options like 45W Type-C, USB and a 12V socket.
2025 Tata Punch facelift: Expected Powertrain
Mechanically, the 2025 Tata Punch facelift is expected to remain unchanged. It will likely continue with the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 86 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. The i-CNG bi-fuel variant will also be retained, delivering 73.4 bhp and 103 Nm. Transmission options for the petrol version will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT.
