Tata Motors launched the Harrier.EV last week after a long anticipation of over five years since it was first displayed as a concept at Auto Expo 2020. As of now, the homegrown carmaker has only revealed the starting price of the electric SUV which is a competitive Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Most of the details regarding specifications and features of the Harrier EV have already been revealed. Bookings for the Tata Harrier EV will commence from July 3. Ahead of that, few key details about the mid-sized electric SUV have been divulged which weren’t revealed earlier.
Tata Harrier EV: Battery, Motor, Performance specs
We already knew that Harrier EV will come with two battery options: 65 kWh and 75 kWh. Tata claims an IDC range of 622 km on a single-charge range for the latter. However, realistically it should offer a range of 480-500 km on a single charge. The entry-level variants will come with a single motor driving the rear wheels that churns out 235 bhp (116 kW).

The higher-spec variants come with a dual-motor, all-wheel drive powertrain dishing out an additional 156 bhp from the front motor. Although Tata is yet to reveal the actual combined peak power output, combined peak torque stands at 504 Nm. It has now been revealed that top speed of Harrier EV is limited to 180 kmph. It is already known that the all-electric Harrier can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.3 seconds.
Tata offers two AC charging options for the Harrier EV: 3.3kW and 7.2kW. The battery also supports up to 120kW DC fast charging, enabling a range boost of up to 250 km with just 15 minutes of charging. The SUV features six terrain modes—Normal, Grass/Snow, Mud/Gravel, Sand, Rock Crawl, and Custom. Additionally, it comes equipped with Boost Mode, Drift Mode, and Off-road Assist, along with cruise control that operates at speeds as low as 5 km/h.
Tata has also revealed the weight of Harrier EV. The RWD variants of the battery-powered SUV will weigh 2,235 kg (kerb) and AWD variants could weigh up to 2,336 kg (kerb). This makes the former 300 kg and the latter 400 kg heavier the combustion powered Harrier, respectively.

Tata Motors is offering many new features that the company hasn’t offered previously in any of its offerings. These include an electronic IRVM with DVR, Digital Key with NFC key card, self park function along with summon mode, and Samsung NEO QLED infotainment screen to name a few.
Other conveniences offered in Harrier EV include 10-speaker JBL sound system, front ventilated seats, electrically powered drivers and front passenger seats, cruise control, dual-zone climate control and panoramic sunroof. The Harrier EV will get additional goodies like vehicle2-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle2-load (V2L).
