Suzuki Jimny bows out in style by celebrating its 55th anniversary in the style with 55 exclusive units only available in France. Due to strict emission norms, the off-roader was gradually phased out of the European market, like Germany and other EU countries. The iconic SUV made a comeback in France, but only for a short time. On this special occasion, Suzuki took out only 55 examples especially for the French market.
Suzuki Jimny 55th Anniversary: Features
The Jimny 55th Anniversary edition is based on the standard SUV, but is packed with additional equipment and accessories. For starters, the 4×4 sports the retro Suzuki front honey comb grille with yellow-orange-red graphics on the side, the spare wheel mounted on the tailgate gets a cover with a rhinoceros and all-black vintage wheels with special red coloured mud flaps. This image was first introduced in the 1980s.
Step inside and it offers equipment like an climate control, heated seats, infotainment system, a customized commemorative plaque on the lower part of the entre console, chrome interior door handle, USB charging port, etc. In terms of safety, it has ABS, airbags, hill start assist, hill descent brake assist, lane departure and lane change warning, automatic high beam control, traffic sign recognition, tyre pressure monitoring system, active emergency braking and much more.
The Jimny 55th Anniversary edition is available in four colours — White, Jungle Green, Bluish Black, and Medium Grey.
Suzuki Jimny 55th Anniversary: Engine Specs
The three-door Jimny 55th Anniversary is powered by the tried-and-tested 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 5-speed transmission. Suzuki has decided not offer this special edition Jimny with the 4-speed automatic torque converter. The SUV comes standard with the AllGrip Pro all-wheel drive and is priced at €28,955, around Rs 34 lakh.
