Skoda announced a few months ago that Superb will re-enter the Indian market towards the end of this year. It appears as if the flagship sedan will return sooner than later. According to a recent media report, the Czech carmaker will launch the updated Superb in India on 3 April 2024.
Skoda discontinued the Superb in India a couple of years ago early last year due to poor sales. Recently, the facelifted iteration of the B8 generation Superb made its debut in the United Kingdom earlier in March this year. While earlier the Superb came to India as a CKD model which was assembled at the company’s Aurangabad facility, the upcoming Superb will be available as a fully-imported CBU model in India.

As a result, it will be priced steeply. The report also mentions that Skoda will likely price the premium executive sedan around Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom). A leaked internal document suggests that Skoda plans to bring 100 units of the Superb. Only the top-spec ‘L&K’ variant of the Superb is likely to be available for Indian consumers.
Skoda Superb features & specs
In the global market, Superb comes with a slew of engine options starting from the 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid TSI turbocharged petrol motors to the 2-litre TSI turbocharged petrol unit, and 2-litre TDI diesel mill. The Indian market is expected to receive the latter two options.
The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor pushes out 188 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. The 2.0-litre oil burner on the other hand, 148 bhp and 360 Nm of torque. Both powertrain options are paired exclusively to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

In terms of features, the top-spec L&K trim of Superb will benefit from a 13-inch infotainment system with Wired Smart Link, a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit, ventilated 12-way electrically adjustable front seats, a massage function for the driver’s seat, wireless charging, a Canton sound system with 11 speakers, and 3-zone automatic climate control.
