Skoda is gearing up for the debut of its upcoming subcompact SUV named Kylaq next month. The sub-4 metre SUV has already been spied testing on a few occasions over the last few months. Ahead of its global debut, the Kylaq has been spotted testing once again.

Earlier this week, Skoda also conducted a teaser first drive of the sub-4 metre SUV for the media. A review of the same will drop soon. Like previous images, the latest spy shots show a fully-camouflaged test mule. Speaking of camouflage, Skoda also recently collaborated with artist Harun Robert, a.k.a Rob, for the design of Kylaq’s camouflage.

Skoda Kylaq: Expected design

The latest spy images are not clear enough to provide us with intricate details, however, it is safe to assume that Kylaq will borrow several signature Skoda elements such as the butterfly grille up front, and a split LED lighting setup.

Like all Skodas, the side profile of the Kylag will remain clean and understated. The car is likely to ride on 16-inch all-black alloy wheels. From the first teaser, it was revealed that the Kylay will receive T-shaped LED taillamps and a brand new “SKODA” lettering at the centre of the tailgate. Other visual highlights include black roof rails, sunroof, blacked-out pillars, and an upright bonnet.

Skoda Kylaq: Expected features & specs

The Kylaq is expected to borrow features from the Slavia and the Kushaq starting with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system for the entry-level models and a 10-inch unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for the higher variants. Besides, it is expected to get front ventilated seats, an all-digital instrument console, paddle shifters for automatic, an electric sunroof, tyre pressure monitoring system and cruise control.

Powering the Kylaq will be a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that performs duties on the Kushaq as well as Slavia. This petrol mill kicks out 114 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
