Skoda recently unveiled its new compact electric SUV named Elroq globally last week. The new Elroq will sit under the Enyaq which is set to make its India debut sometime next year. The Elroq is a very significant model in Skoda’s lineup since it is based on a new design language very different from Enyaq.
Like the Enyaq, the Elroq is expected to land in India sometime in the future and it is expected to share quite a few elements with the upcoming Skoda Kylaq. The Czech carmaker’s subcompact SUV, the Kylaq is slated to make its global debut in India next month. Earlier this year, Skoda teased the Kylaq which showed partial glimpses of the crossover.
Skoda Kylaq: Elroq-inspired design
However, it was clear that the design of the Kylaq will be different from the ones seen in Kushaq, Slavia or even Kodiaq. Now, with the Elroq making its global debut, we can draw parallels between the electric SUV and the Kylaq. For starters, up front the Elroq gets a brand new front fascia with a split lighting setup up front featuring a sleek tri-LED DRL and bi-LED projector headlights below. A similar layout is expected to be seen in the Kylaq as well.

Another change observed in the Elroq is a revised “Skoda” lettering on the hood and the tailgate which is expected to be seen on Indian roads with the Kylaq for the first time. That said, the Kylaq will carry forward the signature all-black Skoda Butterfly grille up front which the Elroq misses out on. Instead, the latter gets a sealed off illuminated nose with mimics the butterfly pattern in a way.
However, the Elroq is slightly larger than the Kylaq which will be a sub-4 metre SUV. Also the bonnet the Elroq seems to be an inspiration for the Kylaq. From previous spy images, it has been revealed that the Kylaq will roll on 16-inch all-black alloy wheels while the side profile will remain clean and understated. Other visual highlights include black roof rails, sunroof, and blacked-out pillars.

Skoda Kylaq: Expected features & specs
In terms of features, the Kylaq is expected to come equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument console, wireless smartphone connectivity, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, and 360-degree camera to name a few.
Powering the Kylaq will be a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that performs duties on the Kushaq as well as Slavia. This petrol mill kicks out 114 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
